This vertical study focuses on the tule grasses that have lined the shores of Coyote Hills for millennia. In the soft, diffused light of a misty morning, the boundary between the golden marsh and the hazy sky almost completely disappears.
For the Tuibun Ohlone, these grasses were the building blocks of life—woven into sturdy boats and weather-resistant homes. This photograph is intended to be a meditative piece, capturing the quiet resilience of the wetlands and the "stillness" that remains when the morning fog rolls in over the East Bay.
